About the Event
Everyone is talking about cyber security, the Colonial Pipeline attack, their familiarity or perhaps the lack thereof on the subject, and how well prepared they and their companies are in the event that they face a cyber-attack, firsthand. This is a different but closely related subject to cyber assaults to IT assets and infrastructure.
Long-time HPF member, David Smith, and his colleague Alex Van Oordt at TUV Rheinland (https://www.tuv.com/usa/en/) have generously offered to host an hour-long webinar on the subject of operational or industrial cyber security to help HPF members become more knowledgeable and familiar with this subject and its potential impact on their companies and their production or midstream assets.
TUV Rheinland is a global company, focused on industrial safety consulting which includes industrial cyber security. The company has over 20,000 employees located in offices around the world in 69 countries and has been in business for 150 years. They have impressive credentials in this area and do business with many familiar names across multiple industry sectors.
To help ensure that the webinar is useful and engaging for HPF members, folks can submit questions in advance so that the TUV team can tailor the presentation’s content to be as useful and beneficial as possible for participants in the webinar. This subject might be unfamiliar to many HPF members but it is important considering the operational, financial, and environmental consequences of a cyber assault on oilfield assets and equipment.
The goal of this event is to educate and not intimidate. There will be a Q&A portion of the webinar but if members wish to submit their questions in advance via the registration form or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and note in the subject line: Cyber Webinar Question.
