About the Event

Richard Jackson is U.S. Onshore Resources and Carbon Management – President, Operations. Mr. Jackson leads the development and operations of Oxy’s U.S. onshore oil and gas businesses while continuing to advance the company’s Low Carbon Ventures technology development and business models.

With more than 20 years in the oil and gas industry, Mr. Jackson has significant expertise in worldwide oil and gas project development, technology and business management. His previous roles include Vice President, Investor Relations, President and General Manager for Permian Resources–Delaware Basin, and Vice President of Drilling Americas. He began his career with Oxy in Qatar, where he held key leadership roles in drilling and completions. Previously, Mr. Jackson held various upstream development engineering roles in the United States and Gulf of Mexico.

Mr. Jackson serves on the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative’s Climate Investment Board and on the American Petroleum Institute’s Upstream Committee. He is also chairman 1PointFive, a development company formed to finance and deploy Carbon Engineering’s Direct Air Capture technology. A graduate of Texas A&M University, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering.

Most recently, Mr. Jackson was President and General Manager, EOR and Oxy Low Carbon Ventures, LLC. In this role, Mr. Jackson oversaw Oxy’s use of carbon dioxide (CO2) in enhanced oil recovery (EOR), primarily in the Permian Basin, where the company has more than 40 years of experience and is a worldwide leader in CO2 management. He also led Oxy Low Carbon Ventures, LLC, the Company’s wholly owned subsidiary advancing leading-edge, low-carbon technologies with a focus on Carbon Capture, Use and Sequestration and low carbon products.
